Hairstyle Ideas for Weddings

by Jerry Lasgow

There are endless possibilities and tons of versatile hairstyling options for weddings. Virtually, it is up to the bride to decide which style she feels more comfortable with; after all it is her day.

The most important thing a bride must do when choosing the form of her wedding hairdo is plan, plan, and plan. The sooner one starts to plan for you special day, the better off you can be in the long run. Early planning allows you to get the hair into the best condition possible and to have several hair trials with the hairdresser. Collect as many pictures of styles as one can from bridal magazines and bring these to the hairdresser and together you will decide which option would work most ideal for one. It is also a good idea when you decide on a hair piece, whether it be a veil comb, headband or tiara, to bring it to the hairdresser so she can get familiar with it and decide what forms might look best in it. If one decides that you want to do the hair yourself the day of the wedding, it might be a good idea to look into wearing a hairpiece to match the natural color of you hair.

Hairpieces are easy to work with and are designed to add volume and shape and look like one spent hours on the hair. Make sure you have an SOS kit available on the big day. Be sure to include in you kit curling irons, bobby pins, hairbrushes, picks, tail combs and most crucially lots of hairspray. Last of all, just be sure to plan ahead, relax, and enjoy the day.

Big hair for the big day

by Kevin Longworth

The one big tip when it comes to hair for the big day is don't, whatever you do, do something you've never done before and would never do again. It is truly amazing how many women get carried away in the odd fairytale of it all, furiously grow their hair and pile it all on top of their head like some sort of elaborate cow pat. Your big day is the perfect day to be you, all you and nothing but you, so don't be swayed by what you think you should look like or what those bridal magazines advise, they don't know what you like after all.

So, if you've got short hair, you like your short hair and you think your short hair suits you, keep it for your big day. Why get rid of it just because the bridal magazines have a serious lack of ideas on how to style a short hairstyle for the big day? If you're the type of person to trawl through magazines, online hair sites and pictures of celebrities before you go to the hairdresser for a cut and blow dry, apply the same principle to your wedding style. What you want to achieve is pride and a smile when you look back at your wedding album in 40 years time, and this will be dependent on choosing classic styling and not what's in fashion that year.

So you've chosen your dress, what a huge weight off your mind, after all, it's all about the dress isn't it? What you probably want to avoid is grabbing at everything you fancy from wedding and high street fashion as what you'll probably end up with is a mish mash of different styles and fashion disaster sign plastered to your beloved dress. The same goes for your hair, you've got to make sure it goes with your dress. So if you've gone for fifties glamour, chances are a hippy hairstyle with lots of tiny plaits and a halo of garden flowers will probably look a bit odd, same goes for the other way around. In some way, the style of your hair must tie in to the style of your dress.

So we've talked about style and sticking with the classics or a twist on such, so now is the time to get your hair in the best condition of its life! A great hair style is all about healthy hair, getting it looking fabulous is easy with professional hair care products and these don't have to be expensive, there are plenty of discounted products online. The top three tips for healthy are: eat right, getting the right balance of vitamins and minerals can be the difference between dull hair and hair that wows; use the right products for your hair and don't just go for the ones on offer; don't forget to protect your hair whenever you're putting it under stress, i.e. when you swim, when you sunbathe or when you blow dry, style and straighten it.

Finally, choose a texture that suits you and your style. If you've never curled your hair before, now is probably not the time to jump straight in but now probably is the time to try a load of new things and make sure you haven't missed the hair style or cut of your dreams. Tigi hair care products are particularly good at creating texture, anything from sleek and sexy to curly and girly or choppy and funky, so have a play around at home and then get in touch with your hairdresser.

All eyes will be on you on your big day, so make sure your hair is healthy, reflects your personality and is styled to last.
